If you were putting these cards in a Mac Pro, you could use all four outputs simultaneously, for an even bigger canvas. The limiting factor in both of these resolution-taxing scenarios is Thunderbolt 3/4 bandwidth. I’ve also done 3x 4k/60 DCI out of a Blackmagic Decklink 8k card, but that only gets you 12,288 wide by 2160 tall, since you can’t change the frame size of SDI like you can with DisplayID. With Mitti’s spanning, a USB-C MacBook Pro, Thunderbolt to PCIe chassis, a Radeon WX7100 and a FirePro S400, I have successfully output 23040px by 1080px (3x over DP1.2) into a Spyder X80, with frame sync. Tamás, on the other hand, regularly revs Mitti, for both OS reasons (Metal support) and to add great features and quash reported bugs. Playback Pro Plus is the only app that Brian has revved to be 64Bit and Catalina+ compatible. I’ve converted all of our Macs to Mitti, since our machines are starting to be too new to run the version of the OS compatible with regular Playback Pro, which is what we have the most licenses for. I was a beta tester for Playback Pro way back in 2006, and was a beta tester for Mitti more recently. I think Mitti only supports Blackmagic devices while Millumin also has support for other devices like the AJA IO 4K +. One thing I haven’t seen mentioned yet is that Playback Pro does not have output support for SDI cards or devices like Blackmagic’s Decklink or Ultrastudios. The only thing that PBP+ does that Mitti 2 can't (Mitti 1 can, but nm) is resize and shift the video frame separately vertically and horizontally, but I've only needed to do that once in the last several years and the file got sent back to be re-encoded anyway. Imimot post regularly on fb, respond quickly to emails and pop out betas to fix problems in a few days! Plus, you can save your documents in the cloud on OneDrive and access them from. Take note that this is for the Professional Plus edition of Microsoft Office 2016. DT Videolabs took literally YEARS to come up with a beta that would work on Catalina and beyond. Plus, you can save your documents in the cloud on OneDrive and access them from anywhere. Output on SDI via BMD Decklink or UltraStudio and similar, with cut & fill if neededĪnd then there's the support. Jump back or forward to numbered cues on completion of a cueĪdd inputs such as NDI, capture cards and web pages as cues Pretend to be a BMD Hyperdeck so that ATEMs can trigger playback Report back useful information over OSC for Companion and similar to see what file is selected, playing, its status and how long is remaining Span multiple outputs for higher resolutions - I've done 8K wide no problem Mitti just does so much more, better and cheaper. The software can be downloaded at and will run in demo mode unless a software key is detected. Now that 64b Playback Pro+ is FINALLY out of beta, it seems pretty solid (shame the audio metering STILL isn't working!), but I think it's had its day now. PlaybackPro works with SimpleSync, which allows easy sync rolls across multiple machines. All effects are rendered on the fly.īecause PlaybackPro Plus is a multi-channel (plus mixer) player – allowing cuts and dissolves between clips and many other advanced features – it must be run on a powerful machine with robust resouces: a Macintosh computer running Leopard (10.5) or newer, a Quartz Extreme-capable graphics card, and at least 2GB of RAM. It is completely non-destructive to original video files, allowing the same file to be referenced multiple times with separate in and out points, geometry, and levels. PlaybackPro Plus leads the way with a simple but powerful interface that allows flexibility and control over the playback of video content in what might be called non-linear playback. While the digital revolution has changed the way video is edited, its effects have not yet been truly felt in the live production industry. Since it provides much greater flexibility in both the field and studio, it is intended to replace hardware digital disk recorders, DVD players, and video tape machines. Using one output as the operator interface, it sends clean video to the secondary video output, utilizing the graphics card for hardware acceleration with complete control over size, aspect ratio, and levels. This Macintosh application takes full advantage of advances in software stability and graphics capabilities.
